New Zealand Secondary School Athletics Champs

Congratulations to Braden Kendall and Noah Macdermid who recently competed at the New Zealand Secondary School Athletics Champs. Braden won gold in the Senior Boys' PA II 100m and bronze in the PA II 200m and Shot Put. Well done!

New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Championships

Good luck to Noah Macdermid and Braden Kendall who are both competing in the New Zealand National Secondary Schools Athletics Championships in Hastings over the weekend Friday 1 December to Sunday 3 December. We look forward to hearing your results.

Sailing Success

Congratulations to Matilda Fyles who recently competed in the Whanganui Open Bic Regatta. Matilda came 4th overall out of 14 sailors, gaining a 3rd placing in one of the races. Matilda was also awarded a medal for perseverance and assistance to others. Well done, Matilda.

STEM Scholarship

Congratulations to Mosiah Igatia who has received a scholarship to attend the Pūhoro STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Academy for ten days in Hawaii. The Pūhoro STEM Academy, together with the Our Land and Water National Science Challenge, will send a group of ten Year 12 students to Hawaii to meet and work with an Indigenous STEM Academy at the University of Hawaii in Hilo. Students will be involved in projects that combine western and native science methods. The group will also participate in astronomy activities on Mauna Kea – the world’s largest observatory for optical, infrared and submillimetre astronomy as well as learning indigenous knowledge of the importance of the sacred mountain top. Central Teams Champs

Congratulations to Noah Macdermid and ex-student Kara Macdermid who competed in the Central Region Teams Competition at Cooks Garden in Whanganui recently. The Palmerston North club won the competition with 184 points. Noah Macdermid (pictured left) won the men's 1500m.
