Family and whānau of Year 9 students are invited to attend a welcome BBQ on Tuesday 13 February from 5-6pm outside the canteen. Parking is available in the front carpark. Food and beverages will be provided. This is an informal way for students, parents/caregivers and teachers to get to know each other. We hope to see you there!
Due to inclement weather conditions, the decision has been made to CANCEL the FULL school swimming sports this afternoon.
Normal classes will continue as follows:
Interval: 11.00am-11.30am
Period 3: 11.30am-12.30pm
Lunch: 12.30pm to 1.15pm
Period 4: 1.15pm to 2.15pm
Period 5: 2.15pm to 3.15pm
Students who have entered competitive events will remain at the lido for the remainder of the day.
A reminder that Swimming Sports is on Monday 5 February at the Lido.
Competitive events will take place from 9am to 12.30pm. These events are optional. Only students who have registered in competitive races will attend the morning events. Competitors must make their own way to the pool by 8.45am sharp and will be joined by the full school at 1pm. Students who are not participating in the competitive events will attend school in the morning as per normal.
The full school will attend from 1pm to 3pm (weather permitting). On this afternoon, form teachers will walk with their classes to the pool. Students who are not competitors can participate in the inter-house tabloid competition. These are fun events and attract many entries. We encourage students to participate in as many of these events as possible as all entries gain points for the inter-house competition.
Students will be dismissed from the pool at 3pm to return to school or make their way home.
Dress Code:
• Students must wear mufti (no cost)
• Clothing must be in keeping with house colours and suitable for both sunny and cold conditions
• Those students entering competitive and tabloids events must bring suitable swimwear - jeans are not permitted
• Students must come prepared with sunscreen, a sun hat and a drink bottle of water.
Bad weather may mean the full school will not attend in the afternoon. If this is the case normal classes will continue for those students not competing in the finals.
