Pasifika Fusion was held on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 July at the Regent Theatre. This event is always a highly anticipated event of the school calendar which showcases our students’ many and varied talents. Awatapu students participated in many of the categories including Wearable Arts, Speech, Talent and Cultural Performance.
The Cultural group performance was once again a highlight of the event. Students spent countless hours learning and perfecting dances from a range of Pasifika cultures, mixing both traditional and contemporary styles. Well done to all those involved.
A big thank you to the number of former students who returned to mentor and assist the group. Their willingness to take time off work/study to encourage the Pasifika students was much appreciated by all those involved. Thank you also to friends and family who came to support them and to Mr Hatch for his time and effort working with the group.
The Junior and Senior Interview/Subject Confirmation Evenings are scheduled for Wednesday 8 August (Years 9 and 10) and Thursday 23 August (Years 11, 12 and 13) from 4.00pm - 7.00pm. Please note that the school will close at 3pm on these days.
