AFS Global Competence Certificate Programme

Congratulations to Hayley Atkin, Bella Barrie, Joshua Bourke, Kayleigh Greig, Rio Heldreth, France Magno, Angelica Montoya, Lily Patete, Jack Scrivener and Matai Tait who completed the 'AFS Global Competence Certificate' programme and received their certificates from our Mayor Grant Smith. ENZ collaborated with AFS and Massey University to offer a customised version of the 'AFS Global Competence Certificate' to selected Vietnamese and Palmerston North Year 10 students. This programme ran for 4 weeks and the learning platform was provided by AFS while Massey University facilitated the 4 zoom lessons.

On 15th December a graduation ceremony was held at the Palmerston North City Council Chambers and it was attended by the Palmerston North City Council Mayor Grant Smith, the Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand, H.E. Mr Ta Van Thong, and Education New Zealand’s Chief Executive, Grant McPherson.

NCEA - Learning Recognition Credits

NZQA released results for 2020 last week. The 2020 results files appear to not include Learning Recognition Credits (LRC), as NZQA is still working to calculate them.

Learning Recognition Credits are awarded to students who studied NCEA during 2020. Due to the disruptions caused by Covid-19 and the lockdowns it caused, students may have had less opportunity to earn credits during the year as they normally would.
For students living and studying in the rest of the country (not ACK), one LR credit will be awarded for every 5 credits they earned, up to the maximum number of LR credits permitted. LR credits might be awarded at any level.
Once NZQA have finished their calculations, a new file containing these results will be supplied to schools by NZQA and our records updated.
