Central Energy Trust Bursary

Congratulations to former students Maria Reiche and Danielle Westwood who were awarded Central Energy Trust Bursaries for 2017. Maria and Danielle received their scholarships during a ceremony on Tuesday 21 February at the Central Energy Trust Arena.

Maria and Danielle were some of only a handful of students from the Palmerston North area who were awarded CET bursaries. Each bursary is awarded for up to three years and has a value for $4,000 toward academic or vocational study. Recipients were selected based on a combination of factors including academic record, participation in cultural, sport or community activities and future leadership potential.

Receiving a CET bursary is an incredible achievement and only comes as a result of a significant amount of work throughout both their schooling and community commitments. We are extremely proud of these students and wish them well in the future endeavours.

Scholarship Success

Congratulations to former student Rosalie Alter-Shaw who received Scholarship for Japanese. Scholarship provides recognition and monetary reward to the top three percent of students studying Level 3 subjects. Achieving Scholarship is a significant accomplishment and we are extremely proud of Rosalie's efforts.

The full NCEA results and statistics will be confirmed later this term. A special Academic Assembly will be held on Friday, 3 March to acknowledge students who excelled in NCEA in 2016. This assembly will be held in the College Gymnasium at 10am. Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.

University of Otago On Campus Experience

Applications are open for the University of Otago On Campus Experience Scholarship.

The students will explore the Otago campus, and the student city of Dunedin. They will have the opportunity to attend lectures in their areas of interest, as well as meet academic staff and students. They will also experience life in a residential college and meet staff at the Māori Centre, who provide great support for Māori students when they come to Otago.
