BCITO Build Ability Challenge 2016

For the third successive year, students in the Furniture Construction and Technology (wood bias) class have been involved in the 'Build Ability Challenge', organised by BCITO (Building, Construction Industry Training Organisation). This year students are competing against 18 other schools nationwide.

Year 11 student, Grace Berg, developed the 'Crooked Playhouse' concept. The design was then presented to our client, Longburn School, and approved by BCITO. Students worked as a team to complete the framing drawings and build the playhouse. A weekly blog which details the progress can be viewed here. 

Gaining sponsorship was critical in the success of the build. Alongside the $500 sponsorship from BCITO, we gratefully acknowledge the sponsorship or materials and services from Mitre 10, ITM, Bunnings, Dulux, Isles Construction, and Programme Maintenance.
