Sports hoodies are on sale again. Students who take part in sports are particularly encouraged to purchase one and wear it to their games and sports events.
Please note, these hoodies are NOT part of the uniform code and therefore it is unacceptable for them to be worn as part of the Years 9-11 uniform either at school or when travelling to/from school. They can, however, be worn by seniors as part of the mufti-code and by Years 9-11 students on a mufti-day. Sports hoodies are on sale again. Congratulations to the Year 9 and 10 students who competed at the Massey University Japanese Trivia Contest on Friday 22 June.
Year 9 team, comprised of Zach Brown, Emily Marshall, Kayla Marshall and Gryffin Powell (pictured), were the overall winners of the competition meaning Awatapu College retained the trophy for the 4th year in a row! Well done!
All Year 10 students have been studying a unit in Social Studies about careers and the world of work. During Week 8 a large number of Year 10 students out and about on Work Experience. This programme gives students a “real life” work experience outside of the classroom. Thank you to the Social Studies department and the businesses involved in this programme. As you can appreciate, this is a major undertaking for staff and employers, and we are so fortunate to have such enthusiastic people working with our students.
The Seeking Success Op Shop (located next to the College Library) is open every lunchtime. The Op Shop will also be open for a SPECIAL LATE NIGHT on Wednesday 27 June from 3.30-6.45pm. This will coincide with the first night of the Art Weeks Soiree. All proceeds from the Op Shop go directly to Seeking Success - a fund that has been set up by Awatapu students for the direct benefit of their fellow pupils. We have a significant amount of stock so now is a perfect time to visit the Op Shop.
