Anzac Day 2019Anzac

During the holiday break our Student Co-Leaders, Sam Grimwood and Charlee Newby, represented Awatapu College at the ANZAC Day Civic Service in Palmerston North. This is an important day for New Zealanders and I would like to thank our Co-Leaders for laying a wreath on behalf of the staff, students, and Board of Trustees of Awatapu College.

RYDA Programme

On Thursday 4 April, Year 12 students attended the Rotary Young Driver Awareness (RYDA) course held at the Central Energy Trust Arena. The purpose of the course is to provide road safety information that challenges students to change the way in which they think about road safety. This is the third year Awatapu has offered this course and it would not have been possible without generous funding from the Awapuni Rotary Club, COGS Manawatu/Horowhenua, Eastern and Central Community Trust, and the Lion Foundation. On behalf of all those who attended, we extend a huge thank you to the RYDA facilitators and generous sponsors for allowing our students to attend. We look forward to participating in future events.
