Fundraising for Nepal

After the earthquakes in Nepal shattered the lives of thousands, it was great to see our school community stepping up to raise money in support of victims. Fundraising events held over three days at Awatapu raised $2000 for the Nepalese community.

Skating Success

Congratulations to Phoenix Reid who competed in the Oceania Artistic Roller Skating Championships in Australia recently.

Phoenix gained Silver medals in the Mini Precision, Cadet ladies free skating and Cadet ladies dance categories and a bronze medal in the Cadet Ladies figures.

Well done Phoenix - all your hard work is paying off!

Manwatu Intersecondary Schools Atheletics Championship

A great team of 49 of Awatapu's finest athletes competed at the Manawatu Intersecondary Schools Athletics Chamionships, held again at the all weather athletics track at Massey University on Saturday 21 March. All of our students competed well and upheld the fine reputation that Awatapu College students have at this event.

The team came home with nine titles and twelve placing's - an outstanding result that we are extremely proud of.

Athletics Results

A stunningly warm Manawatu day greeted Awatapu College athletes for the 2015 Athletics Day at the Massey University Track. The entire school was out in force, dressed in house colours, and enjoying the day.

Outstanding Achievements

Congratulations to:

Mason Dunlop who competed recently in the North Island Powerboat Championships in Auckland. We are very proud to say Mason came out as the overall winner at this event and is now the North Island Junior Power Boat Champion for 2015. This is a fantastic achievement Mason

Jasmine Waters & Courtney Infield who have been named in the Manawatu U15 Representative Girls Cricket team. Well done girls.

Keaton Kawana who has been selected in the Manawatu Representative U17 Mixed Touch Team and Sisilena Igasia who has been selected in the Manawatu Representative U21 Mixed Touch Team. Great effort Keaton and Sisilena.

These are great achievements as the competition is very fierce for places in any of our regions rep teams and we are very proud of our students who are selected into them.
