Bright Young Things - Phoenix Reid

Phoenix

Welcome back to Year 12 student Phoenix Reid who has recently returned from a skating exchange in Florence, Italy. Phoenix is the current Oceania artistic roller skating age grade champ in dance and figure skating, and it was this love for skating which saw her travel to Florence on a two-month student exchange programme. She recently spoke to the Manawatu Standard to talk about her experience - click here to read the full article. Phoenix is now gearing up for her next event, the Laurie Hastie Competition, on 18 March at the CET Arena 3 in Palmerston North. All the best, Phoenix!

This is the first year she has competed in these shoots and is a tremendous achievement - well done, Jess!

Peer Support Activity Day

On Friday 24 February, Year 9 students enjoyed a free Activity Day being run by the College as part of the Peer Support Program. Students participated in various activities including team building sports, house competitions and a BBQ lunch. After lunch, many of the students went down to the Lido for an afternoon of fun in the pools and hydroslides, while other students opted to stay at the College for some lego building fun. It was a great day had by all and we hope this transition to high school has been a positive experience for them. A special thanks to the Peer Support student leaders for all their hard work planning the day - without you this would not have been possible.
