Metal Masterpiece

Mural

Designed and created by students from our senior metalwork class, we are pleased to feature a new piece of metal artwork outside our 200 Block. The official unveiling took place on Monday 13 March. The sculptural work includes designs from a number of students, who drew ideas in response to a donation of steel to the school by Vulcan Steel. Students then transferred the design to the computer and used a plasma cutter to cut the design from the metal sheet. The new mural is 2m by 3m, and has been put to a wall next to the metalwork room. Thanks also to Mr Dowrick for his input with the project. The students involved were interviewed by the Manawatu Standard, click here to read the article.

Young Enterprise E-Day

YoungEnterprise

On Tuesday 7 March, a group of young entrepreneurs participated the Young Enterprise E-Day at the Manawatu Golf Club. The students were Ophelia Fishsimmons, Zoe Taylor, Matthew Anderson and Karl Werner. Throughout the day the group worked on a real-life business plan, then pitched their idea to a panel of advisors in a speed-mentoring style workshop. The day proved extremely valuable for the students and we look forward to seeing what they can produce!
