Nominations for the Manawatu Secondary School Sports Awards are now open!

The award categories are:

▪ Supreme Sportsman of the Year
▪ Supreme Sportswoman of the Year

Outward Bound - Term 2 Holidays

Outward Bound New Zealand is a not for profit organisation offering outdoor experiential learning courses to New Zealanders young and old. The Outward Bound Leaps and Bounds course is offered to teenagers aged 13-15yrs and their parent or caregiver during the July and September school holidays. The course is aimed at building and strengthening the important parent/teen bond in a fun and healthy environment. Sexuality Education Public Consultation

Every two years, as required by legislation, the Awatapu College Board of Trustees will undertake consultation with the school community on a draft statement on the delivery of the health curriculum. This will outline how the school will implement the health education component of the Health and Physical Education curriculum. As a result of this consultation, the Board will adopt a statement on the delivery of the health curriculum.

The school will host a meeting on Thursday 5 July at 5pm in the staff room to discuss the draft policy. AMP Study Start Scholarship

Every year AMP gives a Study Start Scholarship worth up to $10,000 to young Kiwis with a dream. The criteria to apply for this scholarships is simple: it’s open to any Year 12 or 13 student (must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident) who is planning on attending a tertiary institute the following year. Being a straight A student isn’t expected, only a passion and determination to pursue a dream and make a positive difference in New Zealand.
