Congratulations to Shane Mihaere, Itavai Igasia, Matthew Westwood and Kara Macdermid who are the Awatapu College nominees at the Manawatu Secondary Schools Sportsperson of the year award that is to be held on 31^st October. All these students have represented NZ in their chosen sports and have been selected as finalists for their codes.
We wish them all the very best.

Individual Successes

Kara Macdermid who has met the qualifying standard for a place  in the New Zealand Cross Country Team to compete at the World Championships next year. Provided she passes a fitness test closer to the time of the team departing Kara will travel to Poland to compete. Well done on an exceptional achievement Kara – we are very proud of you.

Volleyball Success

The Senior Mixed Volleyball team were runners-up in the Manawatu Intersecondary Schools Division 2 Competition.
Well done to Kayla Donald, Stephen Hay, Aroha McAdam, Mark Menhennet, Nick Ramlose, Matthew Kempster and Caleb Salmons. Also a big thank you to Mr Crawford their coach who gave up so much of his time to support this team.
