Central Energy Trust Bursaries

Applications for 2020 Central Energy Trust Bursaries are now open!! Bursaries are awarded both for academic study and vocational study. Each Bursary will be awarded for up to three years and have a value of up to $4,000, with the period and amount dependent on the type and duration of study. 

The Central Energy Trust 2020 Supreme Award is also available. This award will be presented to the outstanding application for the 2020 year. Trustees will consider academic results, leadership skills, sport and community involvement in making their decision. This Bursary is to the value of $15,000; $5,000 per year over a period of three years.

Applicants for the bursary must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, must reside in the Manawatu/Tararua region (the old CentralPower Electricity Trust Area) and be intending to reside and study in the Manawatu/Tararua region for the duration of their course of study. The closing date for applications is 5.00pm Friday 15 November 2019.

The last day for students is Thursday 5 December 2019. The office will close on Thursday 12 December and reopen on Tuesday 21 January 2020. Full term dates are available on the Portal calendar.

NCEA Exams 2019

NZQA exams run Friday 8 November - Tuesday 3 December 2019. All exams are three hours, starting at either 9.30am or 2pm, and will take place in the College Auditorium unless stated otherwise. Students should arrive at least 20 minutes early. Students have been issued with exam timetables and candidate admission slips. A copy of the exam timetable is also available on the NZQA website.

Senior Honours Awards

Senior Honours Awards will be held on Wednesday 6 November 2019 at the Regent on Broadway at 7.30pm.

Students receiving an award must attend the practice on the same day. These students (along with all other students) will attend school in the morning as per normal. Buses will leave from the school for the Regent on Broadway at 10am and return to school at approximately 12 noon. They must travel by bus - private cars are not permitted. A roll will be taken at the theatre.

Attendance at Honours Awards on Wednesday evening is compulsory for all Year 11, 12 and 13 students. If students are unable to attend, a note must be presented to a Head of House. Students must be seated in the threatre by 7.20pm at the latest.

Year 11 students receiving an award must be in full school uniform. Girls must wear black leather lace up shoes and black stockings. Boys must wear black leather lace up shoes and school socks. Sandals are not permitted. All other students must be dressed formally. The College mufti code applies - please note that shorts, jeans, tee-shirts and sport shoes are not acceptable dress for Honours Awards.

A reminder, the school will close at 12.30pm on Wednesday 6 November. If your child requires supervision until 3.15pm, please contact Mr Hatch by phoning 06 356 4817.
