Rolling Strikes

Notification of Rolling Strikes for Secondary Schools from PPTA as at 30 May 2019

At the time of writing, these strikes will be held as follows:
Tuesday 4 June - Year 9
Tuesday 11 June - Year 10
Friday 21 June - Regional Full Strike (Years 9-13)
Tuesday 25 June - Year 11
Tuesday 2 July - Year 12

Students in these levels will not have classes, therefore we ask that they do not attend school on that day. We apologise for any inconvenience. Should this change we will notify parents/caregivers as soon as possible.

PPTA Strike - School Closed

As you may be aware, PPTA and NZEI union members will be taking strike action on Wednesday 29 May.

As such, Awatapu College will be closed to all students on Wednesday 29 May. Normal timetable will resume on Thursday 30 May.

Please note, the school office will close at 3.30pm on Wednesday 29 May.

Rep Achievement

Congratulations to Jessica Greenwood who was selected in the Manawatu U14 Water Polo team. We wish Jessica and her team all the best for the water polo tournament in Marlborough later this term.

Teacher Only Day

Please note the school will be closed on Friday 17 May due to a Teachers Only Day. The school will be closed to students on this day and parents/caregivers will need to make alternative arrangements for their child. Normal timetable will resume on Monday 20 May.

Cross Country 2019

Congratulations to all students who participated in the School Cross Country held on Tuesday 7 May. It was pleasing to have so many entrants and we had some excellent results from our runners. Thank you also to our student volunteers who helped run the event. Results from the day were:
